The food-contact surfaces of cooking equipment and pans shall be kept free of encrusted grease deposits and other debris accumulations.

Keep all food facilities, and all utensils, display cases, windows, counters, shelves, tables, refrigeration units, sinks, dishwashing machines, and other equipment or utensils used in the storage, preparation, sale, service, and display of food, clean, fully operative, and in good repair.

The non-food-contact surfaces of equipment shall be kept free of an accumulation of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. Equipment shall be reassembled so that food-contact surfaces are not contaminated.
Observed shelves in the back used to store drinks are made from non treated/painted wood. Paint shelves with high gloss paint or treat wood so it is nonabsorbent, smooth, and easily cleanable. 0110 RETAIL MARKET<2000 SQ FT (HM3)
9-13-2019 Failure to keep food pure and free from contamination, adulteration and spoilage. Any food is adulterated if it bears or contains any poisonous or deleterious substance that may render it impure or injurious to health. (113967, 113976, 113980, 113988, 113990, 114035, 114254(c), 114254.3) 2.00 Provide adequate protection at all times to keep food pure and free from contamination, adulteration and spoilage. Destroy all contaminated, adulterated and spoiled food. Observed a jar of baby food was on sale and was past the expiration date. Jar was removed during inspection. Do not sell any baby food items if they are past expiration date. A retail food facility shall not sell of offer for sale after the "use by" date, infant formula or baby food that is required to have this date on its packaging pursuant to the federal act, as defined in Section 109930, and federal regulations adopted pursuant to the federal act, including, but not limited to, Section 107.20 of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
(b) Notwithstanding Section 114395, any retail food facility that violates this section is guilty of an infraction, punishable by a fine of not more than ten dollars ($10) per day for each item sold or offered for sale after the "use by" date. The fine shall be calculated based upon the number of days past the "use by" date that the product is either found being offered for sale, or if the product is sold, the date of sale as established by evidence of the proof of purchase, including, but not limited to, a sales receipt.
(c) An enforcement agency may assess administrative penalties on a retail food facility that violates this section in the amount of ten dollars ($10) per day for each item sold or offered for sale, in addition to other penalties authorized by law.
(d) For purposes of this section, the following definitions shall apply:
(1) "Baby food" shall have the meaning given to "baby foods" in paragraph (c) of Section 407.81 of Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
(2) "Infant formula" shall have the meaning given in subdivision (z) of Section 321 of Title 21 of the United States Code.

9-13-2019 All food employees shall have adequate knowledge of and be trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties. The person in charge shall have adequate knowledge of, and shall educate employees of the food facility regarding major food allergens. (113947) Food facilities that prepare, handle or serve non-prepackaged potentially hazardous food, shall have an employee who has passed an approved food safety certification examination. (113947-113947.1) 2.00 The responsibilities of the staff member certified in food safety include ensuring that all employees who handle, or have responsibility for handling, unpackaged foods of any kind have sufficient knowledge to ensure the safe preparation and /or service of the food. The nature and extent of the knowledge that each employee is required to have may be tailored, as appropriate, to the employee's duties related to food safety issues. 9-13-2019 All poisonous substances, detergents, bleaches, and cleaning compounds shall be properly labeled and stored separate from food, utensils, packing material, and food-contact surfaces. (114254, 114254.1, 114254.2) 7.00 All poisonous substances, detergents, bleaches, cleaning compounds, and all other injurious or poisonous materials shall be stored and used only in a manner that is not likely to cause contamination or adulteration of food, food contact surfaces, utensils, or packaging materials. Poisonous or toxic materials shall be stored or displayed so they cannot contaminate food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-use articles by separating the poisonous or toxic materials by spacing or partitioning and locating the poisonous or toxic materials in an area that is not above food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-use articles. Equipment and utensil cleaners and sanitizers may be stored in warewashing areas for availability and convenience if the materials are stored to prevent contamination of food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-use articles.

Containers of poisonous or toxic materials and personal care items shall bear a legible manufacturer's label. Working containers used for storing poisonous or toxic materials such as cleaners and sanitizers taken from bulk supplies shall be clearly and individually identified with the common name of the material. A container previously used to store poisonous or toxic materials shall not be used to store, transport, or dispense food, utensils, and linen.

Only those insecticides, rodenticides and other pesticides that are specifically approved for use in a food facility may be used. The use shall be in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
Observed 409 and other cleaning chemicals being stored on the drink storage shelf in the back, which may result in potential contamination of food products. Relocate all chemicals/ non food items so that they are stored in a distinctly separate area below and away from all food products and food prep surfaces, in such a way so as to eliminate potential contamination. 0110 RETAIL MARKET<2000 SQ FT (HM3)
